Black and White Magic with Quantum Algorithms
About

Quantum computers are coming and they are closer than you think.

We have heard about Shor's Algorithm (frankly horrifying but some way in the future) and the interesting, but not particularly useful, Grover's algorithm. But what real world problems will Quantum computers solve and how will they do it? Now is the time to start understanding this.

In this talk I'll explain where the power of the quantum computers will come from, the classes of problem that quantum computers will likely be used for and how to construct some powerful algorithms using Q#, Microsoft's quantum language.

James Birnie
VP EngineeringIMMO
James has worked in software since the 1990s, when TDD was something you studied but never did and Agile and Lean were words you used to describe athletes. He learnt the hard way about Agile, Lean and Devops in a startup for 9 years before learning from much cleverer people as a consultant at Thoughtworks for 5 years before moving back into the Product company world. He is now enjoying scaling the organisation at IMMO as VP Engineering.
