About

As Augmented and Virtual Reality is slowly becoming more mainstream, there is one particular environment which should play an important part in its adaption: the World Wide Web. This talk will give a (slightly biased) angle on why the browser is an excellent tool for XR applications, the pro's(and cons) that come with it, and an overview of the available tools. To help you take your first steps, there will be a live showcase on how to build a simple project, using AFrame.

Ruben van der Leun
Web and XR DeveloperLeunix
Ruben has practically been a Software Developer all his life. Starting off with GW-Basic, QBasic and a bit of Pascal, he went to college to learn more about application development with .NET. However, when he got his first job, he found himself diving into the wonderful world of Web development and remained there ever since. By day, he is a Freelance Software Developer, currently working at FedEx. By night, he plays around with realities, both Virtual and Augmented. He tends to evangelise about these topics wherever he can, as long as there are people around willing to listen.
