Its usage among command line programs has increased over the years, due to its safety and performance. In this talk a CLI application will developed from 0, considering many things such as configuration and ease of use. Various useful and widespread crates will be shown along with the best practices: from serde to serialize and deserialize the most common data format, to clap to parse the argument in a user-friendly way. Caching is one of the most effective ways to achieve fast performance, probably the main one, but in a GraphQL context it’s not that easy: once we get to caching GraphQL queries in order to speed up our application backend, we also need to refresh the cache. How can we do that? What are the strategies we can apply to keep our dynamic data ready to use and up to date at the same time? How can we invalidate the cache efficiently? Time based invalidation is widely used but not very precise, so let's introduce event based invalidation, with node.js, fastify and mercurius!

TypeScript forever changed how we write servers in Node.js. A tool that guarantees application correctness feels amazing. Except, that is only one end of the story. There are also the inputs our server receives and the systems it interacts with, which play a role when our code runs in production. Since TypeScript is a static type checker, it can only help with what it sees: our code. So how can we reconcile our runtime with TypeScript? In this lightning talk, I’ll show how our team achieved that for our Express servers with the help of some great open-source libraries that you can use as well.

Shape has been designed with state-of-the-art technologies, there included event-oriented microservices, CQRS, and backend-for-frontend. La tecnologia Conflict-Free Replicated Data Types (CRDT) è la soluzione.
